Com Laude Group has acquired Demys

September 2018

Edinburgh based Demys provides high quality corporate domain name management and online brand protection services. It delivers a full domain management service for a number of high profile brand clients across the UK automotive, retail/leisure, media and FMCG sectors. Its brand protection services include an in-house domain watching service and strategic expertise in the monitoring of online brand infringement.  It also specialises in dispute resolution work, with two members of the team being highly respected expert panellists for Nominet and one of those also being a WIPO and Czech Arbitration Court expert panellist too, alongside the work they do representing clients in domain dispute cases.

Commenting on the acquisition Nick Wood, Managing Director of Com Laude said, “Demys are a good fit with us. They are a business that focuses on delivering high quality service to their customers, they have deep expertise in the domain name space and they have built a strong customer-centric business. The addition of their online brand protection services will help us to deliver greater value to brands who want to protect their online intellectual property.”

Andrew Lothian, Managing Director of Demys added, “This is an exciting time for us, our team and our clients. By joining forces with Com Laude we will be able to provide a more robust offering to the market. The Com Laude approach of high-touch client management with a dedicated Client Manager aligns with the approach we take and the service levels expected by our clients. The chance to build on our expertise in domain disputes and domain watching will deliver a wider offering for the many brand owners, channel partners and law firms that are customers of Com Laude.”
